James E. Clyburn Golf Center
The James E. Clyburn Golf Center is home of The First Tee of Columbia, a national organization dedicated to the development of junior golf. The mission statement is “ to impact the lives of young people by providing affordable learning facilities and education that promotes Character Development and Life Enhancing Values through the game of golf.
The Golf Center is a year round facility open to the general public. It offers a driving range, a practice area that includes a chipping / putting green with a bunker, a teaching area with a second green, two tee boxes and a classroom for educational sessions.
Hours of Operation:
Weekdays 11:00a.m. – 9:00p.m.
Saturday 10:00a.m. – 6:00p.m.

Golf Center Programs
Junior Instruction – Each participant must be under age 18 and have a signed Registration Form. Daily pick up of golf balls required at designated times. Junior programs are free.
Ladies Day – Each Tuesday from 5:00 – 6:30p.m. staff provides instruction for all skill levels. Develop your game and meet other playing partners.
Adult Instruction – Highly qualified staff are experienced in all areas of instruction. Both group and individual teaching is available, call for your appointment.
The First Tee – During the school year, instructions are available on Saturday for ages 4 – 7 at 10:00a.m. and ages 8 – 18 at 11:00a.m. Once school ends, instruction will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the same times. Registration is limited to the first 14 youth to sign up.
Practice Areas – Available to use when the facility is open, however you must check in the office for ball rental.
During the summer, the Driving Range will be CLOSED between 3:30 – 5:30p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for The First Tee activities.
